To be eligible to play without an age waiver a player must weigh at least 60 pounds, be between 8 – 14 years old and live within the Skyline High School boundary. With Club approval and parental waiver, a 7-year-old who weighs at least 60 pounds may play. No experience is necessary. Both boys and girls are welcome.
How much does it cost to play Youth Football?
Registration fees are subject to change each season. We offer an “early registration discount” for registrations by March 31st.
Fully paid registration is required before a player will be issued equipment or placed on a team.
SYFA is able to provide a limited number of scholarships to players in need. If you need a scholarship, please email email@example.com to request a scholarship application.
*Note: Scholarship Applications need to be submitted no later than June 1st.
What does the Football registration fee include?
SYFA provides the basic equipment necessary to participate in football. This includes: helmet, shoulder pads, knee pads, practice uniform and game uniforms, including both home and away jerseys. All distributed equipment must be returned in good condition at the end of the season. If the equipment is not returned and/or is not in good condition there may be an equipment fee of up to $250 assessed. Mouth guards, 5-piece padded girdle, shoes, and socks are not provided.
Your registration fee also helps to cover some of the expenses required to run a successful program. This includes such items as practice and game field rental fees, officials, insurance, coaching equipment and training, safety education, and player development. SYFA is a 100% volunteer organization and relies on parent volunteers and fundraising events to cover all costs associated with the program. Our annual fundraiser is our Parent Party, where we raise money for scholarships.

What team will my child be on?
SYFA fields teams at 5 division levels: Rookie, Cub, Sophomore, Junior Varsity and Varsity. The playing level is determined by an age/weight point system. You can use the age/weight chart (under the GEJFA dropdown above) to determine the level at which your child will play.
Please note that we must follow a strict split policy mandated per our league (Greater Eastside Junior Football Association, www.GEJFA.org). Unlike some other youth sports organizations, SYFA cannot consider requests for players to be placed on a certain team or requests for certain coaches.
What are my obligations as a parent to the Club?
SYFA is a 100% volunteer organization. Parent participation is mandatory to sustain the organization. SYFA has many volunteer opportunities each year ranging from being a Board Member, working concessions, being a coach, team manager, team photographer, running the score board / clock / down markers at games.
How many practices must my child attend before being allowed to play in a game?
All athletes must FULLY participate in a minimum of 14 practices before playing in their first game – NO EXCEPTIONS.
Note: One Jamboree may count as a practice.
